It's been a while since our last trip, so something short and interesting was in order.
After looking at all of our alternatives, Butano State Park came up as one we hadn't ever visited.
Plus it was close by and had good reviews. The bad news was that it's incredibly popular, but the good news is that's only in summer.
On the way from our place in Green Valley we stopped by Purisima, a beautiful little park up on Skyline I had often passed but never stopped at.
We also hadn't been to Ano Nuevo for 30 years, and it was as delightful as ever, especially with it's new museum, and a must for someone with kids.
Overall, once you get up on Skyline and away from the Bay Area's hustle and bustle, the ride alone is well worth it.
